Bring on Spring

Well, it's officially Spring and today we had weather that actually felt like it. So, after dinner we played in the front yard. And what is better to play with than a stick. He found this all by himself and didn't want to put it down.
I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time here this Summer.

Road Trip

Last weekend, the three of us took at road trip {looong road trip} to visit my family in Phoenix. Miller had not met his great-grandma and other family there, so we thought it would be a great time to go visit.

We left out early July 1st and drove all the way through on the way there. 19 hours total. Miller did awesome! He's just a go with the flow kind of baby and I love it. Each stop was a lot longer than usual, but it was so much fun.

I was so happy to see my grandma play with Miller. She's the only grandparent I still have so I was so excited for her to meet him.

Miller saw his first cactus. {I didn't edit this image at all, the sky was that blue}

He also took his first {of many, I'm sure} trip to Cabela's.

We were there on the 4th of July too. We didn't watch fireworks..one, because they are way too loud and two..it's 2 hours earlier there so Miller went to bed at 7pm. {and woke up at 5am}. But, he was still patriotic. :)

Every time we go to Phoenix, we go to Rustler's Rooste to eat rattlesnake {yes, it tastes like chicken}. It's kind of a family tradition.  So, of course we had to take Miller. His horns were a little big, even for his big noggin.

On our way home, we spent the night in Amarillo.

Then, we went to visit our friends The Hague's and I can't believe I didn't take one picture. :( After over 2,200 miles, we were glad to be home!

BLT

Not as in the sandwich, but Baker Lake Trip. It's one of my favorite weekends (5 days) of the year. We all stay in one big house together on Lake Tenkiller. This was Miller's first BLT experience, and I'm pretty sure he loved it. I mean, who wouldn't love all this attention....

Most of the girls made hats, which was really fun.

Miller's Aunt Whitney & Uncle Jerod got him this cute swimsuit, so of course I had to get pictures of him in it.

He acted like he went blind as soon as we put his sunglasses on him.

We got him a little pool to try out. This is right when his feet were touching the water.

But, as you can see, he didn't like it. I think he's used to his warm baths and not the cold water.

His cousin Grant didn't like it at first either, but then he actually sat in it for a while. Miller on the other hand..he wanted out.

It was such a fun weekend!! Now I need a vacation to just stay home and rest.

Sweet Cousins

We had our family {part of it} over for ShirRon's {my stepmom} birthday. We grilled, ate  and then enjoyed the entertainment of little Charlie. He is a pretty funny little guy. He's so happy and has TONS {seriously} of energy.

He loves his cousin Miller too.

I have to capture these kinds of moments now, because in a year or so, we won't be able to get them both still long enough. Charlie is hard enough to get still now at 17 months, I can't imagine the both of them when Miller is big enough to run around with him.

Man, I stink at this blogging thing. I keep thinking I'll do better, but it just doesn't happen. Miller is getting so big. He'll be 3 months next week, which is so hard to believe. He's getting really fun and doing new things all the time. Yesterday, when I was rocking him, he kept putting his hands up to touch my face. I know it's not completely on purpose yet, but he's never done it before. He also did the 'motorboat' a couple times with his mouth, which is new. Needless to say, we are loving every minute with him. Here are some shots from the past week.

Yesterday, just hanging out with his mama.

Last night, talking with his daddy before bedtime.

And on Monday, for Memorial Day we had a cookout at our Uncle Wes's house with all the Baker fam. Miller's sweet little cousin Raegan sure loves to kiss on him. She has a new baby brother so she has lots of practice.

Then, I took him outside where the 'big boys' were shooting their guns, which was loud. So, we put him in the headphones, which must have cut out all the noise because he quit jumping. Plus, look how cute it made his squishy cheeks.

I know I said I would do a 2 month update on Monday. But I realized he's not actually 2 months until tomorrow (Saturday), so I'm really not late. :) I will have an update for sure tomorrow, on his 'official' 2 month day.

Here are some pictures from church last Sunday. It was baby dedication day and Millers Grammy, Aunt Whitney and Great granny & papa came to see him all decked out in his suit. (minus the suit pants because they were too big)

We found this suit at Dillard's on clearance for $9!! Of course I had to get it. We rolled up his sleeves just like his daddy does.

After church, we went out to my dad's for my sister's 22nd birthday. Miller got to see his big cousin Charlie who is 15 months older than him. I can't wait until Miller's big enough to run around with him. I have a feeling they will be trouble.

Easter

We had a busy Easter weekend.
We had an awesome Good Friday service at our church on Friday night. {no pictures}
Saturday we spent with the Baker family. There is always fun to be had when we are all together. This time was no different. We had a little bit of everything...

Little ones everywhere. I can't wait until Miller is big enough to run around with his cousins.

The guys {and some of the girls} shot guns. {Not around the little ones} :)

And what family get together is complete without a fire? This one was on purpose, but it got a little exciting at one point. Don't worry, everything was ok and the fire burned out as planned. That's our papa watching the action.
Fire9

Sunday, we took Miller to his first Sunday at church. This was the best family photo we could get because #1, it was very windy and #2, we were about to be late for church. Little man stayed with us in the service, which was pretty distracting. I was so afraid he was going to cry and cause a scene. He didn't though. He slept pretty much the whole time.

Then, we went to our Granny & Papa's for lunch with the Honeycutt family.

I can't forget the loot that the "Easter Bunny" aka Miller's Grammy & Gamma brought him.
